A firewall is only as good as the team keeping it tuned, and not every organization running a FortiGate 1001F has that team in-house. The FortiGate 1001F 3-Year Managed FortiGate Service (FC-10-F1K1F-660-02-36) hands day-to-day operation of the appliance to Fortinet’s own NOC: initial configuration, ongoing policy and network changes, and round-the-clock monitoring for three full years. It is a subscription only, applied against a FortiGate 1001F you already own or are ordering separately, and it delivers electronically to any country.
This is an operations service, not a security-feature license. Across the three-year term, Fortinet’s NOC team:
FortiGuard security subscriptions (IPS, anti-malware, web filtering) and standard FortiCare hardware/software support are separate lines on the FortiGate 1001F and keep running independently alongside this managed service.
Teams that own a FortiGate 1001F but don’t have a dedicated firewall engineer, branch locations where local IT is stretched across too many systems, and organizations that would rather route change requests to Fortinet’s NOC than build that capability internally all fit this profile. Three years lines up with a typical hardware refresh window: long enough that renewal isn’t an annual chore, short enough to reassess if the deployment’s needs change before a five-year commitment would.
This SKU answers a different question than a UTP or Enterprise bundle does. A security bundle decides what the FortiGate 1001F blocks; this service decides who is actually making changes to the box day to day. If your team already owns change management and just needs the security stack, look at the FortiGate 1001F’s UTP or Enterprise licensing instead. If that operational bandwidth doesn’t exist internally, this SKU covers both the initial setup and three years of ongoing hands-on management directly from Fortinet.
Nothing physical ships. The service is registered electronically against the FortiGate 1001F’s serial number; once active, Fortinet’s NOC onboards the device, verifies baseline configuration, and change-management access starts for the three-year term. A valid FortiGate 1001F is required before activation, whether it’s new hardware being ordered now or an appliance already in production.
DataCenter360.ca is an authorized Fortinet Select Partner and licenses this service worldwide, since it’s delivered electronically rather than shipped. If you’re deciding between a one, three, or five-year term, or want to confirm how the Managed FortiGate Service layers with your current FortiGate 1001F support and security subscriptions, get in touch before ordering and we’ll help you line it up.
