A FortiGate 1100E running without active FortiGuard services is a firewall and nothing more. The FortiGate 1100E 3-Year ATP Subscription (FC-10-F11HE-928-02-36) closes that gap, activating three years of Advanced Threat Protection alongside FortiCare Premium support. It is a license only, with no hardware included, and it delivers electronically to customers anywhere in the world.
Three years of ATP keeps the 1100E continuously updated against evolving threats:
Advanced Threat Protection is Fortinet’s entry-level security subscription tier. It focuses on the core threat-interception stack: stopping exploits at the network level, catching malicious payloads, and giving network teams visibility into application usage. ATP sits below UTP (Unified Threat Protection) and Enterprise Protection in Fortinet’s tier hierarchy. The table shows how all three compare, so you can decide whether stepping up makes sense for your environment:
| Service | Enterprise | UTP | ATP |
|---|---|---|---|
| IPS — intrusion prevention, malicious/botnet URL blocking | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Advanced Malware Protection (AV, botnet domains, mobile malware, virus outbreak, content disarm & reconstruct, AI heuristic AV, cloud sandbox) | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Application Control | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| URL, DNS & Video Filtering (+ malicious certificate detection) | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| Anti-Spam | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| AI-based Inline Malware Prevention | ✓ | — | — |
| Data Loss Prevention (DLP) | ✓ | — | — |
| Attack Surface Security (IoT detection, vulnerability correlation & virtual patching, security rating, outbreak check) | ✓ | — | — |
| FortiCare Premium | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
The 1100E is built for enterprise-scale traffic, so its ATP subscribers tend to be organizations with mature network perimeters that already handle web-layer filtering through a separate tool, a dedicated SWG, or an upstream proxy. For those teams, ATP provides the threat-interception and malware-detection core at this scale without paying for services they already have. It is also common for customers renewing an existing ATP term or activating services on a 1100E purchased as hardware-only.
This is an electronic license tied to a specific FortiGate 1100E serial number. No physical hardware ships. Once applied via the Fortinet support portal, the appliance connects to FortiGuard infrastructure and starts receiving updated threat intelligence for the full three years. You need a licensed 1100E serial number to complete registration.
FC-10-F11HE-928-02-36 covers three years. One-year and five-year ATP terms are also available for the 1100E, and any term can be renewed or upgraded to UTP or Enterprise Protection when requirements change. Renewing before the expiry date avoids any gap in FortiGuard updates and keeps support entitlement continuous.
DataCenter360.ca is an authorized Fortinet Select Partner serving enterprise customers worldwide. At this price point, having a partner confirm the right serial number and renewal timing before committing is worth the extra step. Our team can verify your 1100E registration details and make sure the term aligns with your current coverage. Licenses are delivered electronically, and checkout is fully secured.
