What this service covers

Four related capabilities run for the full term:

• Security Rating: real-time scoring of the Security Fabric deployment against known vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and sub-optimal settings, with remediation guidance mapped to each finding beyond the free base checks included on every FortiGate.
• Outbreak Check: add-on Security Rating checks sourced from FortiGuard Outbreak alerts, surfacing active exploit campaigns and incidents inside the same posture module.
• IoT Device Detection: an up-to-date device signature package that fingerprints and profiles IoT endpoints on the network, querying FortiGuard servers for devices the local database does not already recognize.
• IoT Vulnerability Correlation: matches detected devices against known exploit patterns and applies targeted virtual patches on the FortiGate itself, reducing exposure without waiting on a device firmware update.

Activation and delivery

The license is issued electronically and registered to a specific FortiGate 2000E by serial number; no physical shipment is involved, in Canada or anywhere else. Once applied, Security Rating checks, Outbreak alerts, IoT device signatures, and virtual-patch correlation begin updating from FortiGuard for the full 12-month term. A valid, registered FortiGate 2000E is required before the license can be activated.
