What this service covers

Three OT-specific capabilities activate on the FortiGate 2201E for the full term:

• OT Device Detection: an up-to-date signature package that identifies operational technology assets on the network and returns device metadata, giving visibility into equipment that generic IT device detection typically misses.
• OT Vulnerability Correlation & Virtual Patching: maps discovered OT devices against known vulnerabilities and applies virtual patches directly on the FortiGate, mitigating exposure without touching production controllers or requiring a maintenance window on the equipment itself.
• OT Application Control and IPS: adds signatures written specifically for industrial protocols and applications, extending the FortiGate’s application control and intrusion prevention policies into the OT layer.

OT Security is not bundled into the ATP, UTP, or Enterprise subscription tiers for the FortiGate 2201E; Fortinet sells it strictly à la carte. Activation and delivery

The license is issued electronically and registered to a specific FortiGate 2201E by serial number. Once applied, FortiGuard pushes OT device signatures, vulnerability correlation data, and OT-specific IPS updates to the appliance for the full 12-month term. Nothing ships. A valid FortiGate 2201E is required before activation.
