Product description

Secure RMA removes the requirement to return defective hardware to Fortinet. For organizations running a FortiGate 3000F in a classified, regulated, or otherwise sensitive environment, that distinction matters: the appliance stores configuration data and encryption materials on solid-state media that is not field-replaceable without voiding the warranty. FC-10-F3K0F-301-02-60 covers that gap for five years, giving data center teams a clean path through hardware failure without creating a physical data exposure event.

What Secure RMA Covers

Under a standard RMA process, a replacement unit ships out and the defective unit ships back to Fortinet. Under Secure RMA, the replacement ships and the defective unit stays in the customer’s facility. There is no return obligation. The failed hardware, along with any data it holds, remains under the customer’s physical control throughout the process.

The FortiGate 3000F is a high-performance data center NGFW built around Fortinet’s NP7 and CP9 processors, delivering up to 36 Gbps IPS throughput and 34 Gbps NGFW performance. At that tier, it typically sits at the core of a data center or large campus network, handling traffic that organizations cannot expose during a support event.

Who Needs It

Secure RMA is purchased by organizations where hardware return is legally restricted or operationally unacceptable: federal government agencies, defense contractors, financial institutions subject to data residency requirements, healthcare organizations under HIPAA, and any environment where a failed appliance cannot leave the premises without a formal sanitization process. If your data security policy prohibits uncontrolled hardware departures, Secure RMA is the correct service.

Activation and Delivery

This license is delivered electronically, worldwide. After purchase, the entitlement is registered against the FortiGate 3000F serial number in the Fortinet Support portal. Coverage begins on activation or co-terms with an existing FortiCare contract. A five-year term reduces renewal overhead for high-criticality infrastructure where continuity matters more than flexibility.

FortiCare Tiers and Secure RMA Eligibility

Secure RMA is an add-on available across all three FortiCare support tiers. The FortiCare tier controls response time, telephone access, and the base RMA method. Secure RMA controls what happens to the defective unit once it fails. For a data center appliance like the FortiGate 3000F, most organizations pair Secure RMA with FortiCare Premium or Elite to combine fast incident response with full data residency.

Buying from DataCenter360.ca

DataCenter360.ca is an authorized Fortinet Select Partner. License entitlements are delivered by email within zero to one business days and are ready for immediate portal registration. If you need a quote, want to confirm co-terming with an existing FortiCare contract, or have questions about volume pricing, use the Request a Quote form and the team will follow up promptly.

Does Secure RMA replace the FortiCare support contract?
No. FC-10-F3K0F-301-02-60 is an add-on to a FortiCare contract, not a replacement for it. The FortiCare tier (Essential, Premium, or Elite) provides technical support and the base RMA method. Secure RMA modifies the return obligation only, allowing the customer to retain the defective unit on-site without returning it to Fortinet.

Is this license available outside Canada?
Yes. Secure RMA is a subscription license with no geographic restriction on purchase or activation. DataCenter360.ca fulfills orders worldwide by e-delivery. The physical Secure RMA logistics (Fortinet’s ability to waive return in your country) may vary; check Fortinet’s service availability page or contact your account manager for location-specific confirmation.

What happens to the defective FortiGate 3000F hardware under this service?
Fortinet ships a replacement unit and waives the return requirement. The failed appliance stays in the customer’s facility. The customer is responsible for disposing of or sanitizing the defective hardware according to their own data security policies. No data leaves the premises as part of the RMA process.
