• OT Application Control and IPS Signatures — adds industrial protocol signatures to the FortiGate’s Application Control and IPS engines, covering Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, EtherNet/IP, and other common OT protocols. This lets the firewall enforce communication rules between OT zones without interrupting legitimate industrial traffic.

Activation and Delivery

Registration is done through your FortiCare account at support.fortinet.com, linked to the serial number of your FortiGate 50E. The OT device signatures and IPS rules download automatically with the next FortiGuard update cycle. No truck roll, no on-site configuration required at activation.

This Service vs. Adding a Full Bundle

The OT Security Service covers industrial visibility only. It does not include URL filtering, antivirus, IPS for general IT traffic, or FortiCare support — those require separate subscriptions or a bundle upgrade.
