What the Upgrade Adds to Your FortiWiFi 60F

Three capabilities shift when you move from Premium to Elite on the 60F:

• Critical response drops from 1 hour to under 15 minutes: For P1 issues (device unreachable, traffic stopped), Fortinet’s TAC engages faster at the Elite tier. In a branch where the 60F is the only internet uplink, that difference is measurable.
• Priority RMA at no added cost: Premium does not include next-business-day hardware replacement by default. Elite folds it in. The separate Priority RMA add-on SKU is no longer needed once you upgrade.
• Elite portal access and extended LTS firmware: A dedicated case tracking portal and access to firmware update branches extended past their standard end-of-support dates.

Who Typically Purchases the Upgrade vs. Full Elite

The upgrade SKU (204) is cost-effective when you already have an active Premium contract with significant time remaining. Instead of abandoning that investment, the upgrade extends its value by adding Elite features for the remaining period. Organizations that are negotiating annual renewal cycles sometimes prefer to move to full Elite (284) at the next renewal rather than managing an upgrade mid-cycle. Both approaches get you to the same place.

Activation and Delivery

The license key is delivered electronically to your order email within 0-1 business days. Activation is through the Fortinet Support Portal: log in, find the device by serial number, and register the upgrade key under contract management. Fortinet links the upgrade to the existing Premium entitlement and reflects Elite as the active support tier immediately.

Keep the Premium contract registration record handy before activating. If Fortinet’s portal cannot find an active Premium contract on the target serial number, the upgrade key will not apply.

Upgrade vs. UTP or Enterprise Bundle

This upgrade adds Elite support. It does not activate FortiGuard threat subscriptions. If your FortiWiFi 60F is running FortiGuard services under a separate a-la-carte license, that is unaffected. However, if you are approaching a renewal point for both support and security services, consolidating into a UTP bundle (FC-10-W060F-950-02-12) or Enterprise bundle (FC-10-W060F-809-02-12) may simplify management and offer better per-service pricing.
