What you get

With FortiGate Cloud active, the 50G-5G reports into Fortinet’s hosted portal. You manage settings and firmware remotely, keep automatic configuration backups, and read traffic, application, and threat dashboards built from the device’s own logs. One year of rolling log retention is part of the subscription, giving you recent history for audits and troubleshooting without a local logging appliance.

Who buys the one-year term

A single year suits pilots, short-term or seasonal deployments, and buyers who want to try cloud management before committing to a longer term. It is also a clean way to align the cloud subscription with an annual budget cycle. When the year is up, you can renew at one year again or move to the three or five-year SKU for a lower effective rate.

Activation and delivery

This is a digital product. We email the activation code after purchase; you register it against your 50G-5G serial in FortiCloud, and the management tenant comes online for that device. There is no hardware to ship and no waiting on delivery.

Where it fits

Treat FortiGate Cloud as the management side of the 50G-5G, separate from security. It will not filter web traffic or block intrusions on its own. Run it next to the UTP or Enterprise security bundle for protection, and consider FortiAnalyzer Cloud if you need log retention past the included year.
