Fortinet Gigabit PoE Injector, 802.3af 15.4W Single-Port (GPI-115)

The GPI-115 is Fortinet’s entry Gigabit PoE injector: a single-port, mid-span unit that adds IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet – up to 15.4 watts – onto a Gigabit Ethernet run so an 802.3af-class FortiAP can be powered where the switch does not supply PoE. Its intelligent design supplies power only to devices that can accept PoE, so legacy non-PoE gear on the link keeps working. Choose the GPI-115 for lower-draw 802.3af access points; step up to the GPI-130 (802.3at, 30W) or GPI-145 (802.3bt, 60W) for higher-power models.

Where this injector fits

Use the GPI-115 to power a single 802.3af FortiAP over the data cable when the nearby switch has no PoE port – for example a lone ceiling AP fed from a non-PoE switch. It is the 15.4W tier; for 802.3at (30W) access points use the GPI-130, and for high-power 802.3bt (60W) models use the GPI-145.

Compatibility

Powers Fortinet FortiAP access points that accept IEEE 802.3af PoE, at up to 15.4 W. For higher-power access points, the GPI-130 supplies 802.3at (30 W) and the GPI-145 supplies 802.3bt (60 W). All three are single-port, mid-span injectors that pass power only to PoE-capable devices.
