The FN-CABLE-SFP+3 is Fortinet’s 3-metre 10GBASE-CR direct-attach copper cable, a cost-effective way to link two 10GbE SFP+ ports across adjacent racks. SFP+ connectors are moulded onto both ends, it draws under 0.1W, and it needs no separate optics. Being Fortinet-qualified, it is accepted by the appliance like a genuine transceiver.

At 3m, this DAC reaches between neighbouring racks or across a wider cabinet, covering FortiGate-to-FortiSwitch uplinks and switch stacking without the cost of two optics plus patch fiber. Passive twinax adds virtually no power draw or heat, which keeps rack thermals and cabling simple.
Connects two SFP+ ports on FortiGate and FortiSwitch appliances. The assembly is a single part with fixed SFP+ ends. For same-rack links use the 1m FN-CABLE-SFP+1; for a longer reach the 5m FN-CABLE-SFP+5, or move to SR/LR fiber optics past 5m.
