Fortinet 200GbE QSFP56 Module, Short Range 100m MMF (FN-TRAN-QSFP56-SR4)

The FN-TRAN-QSFP56-SR4 brings 200 GbE to short multimode fiber. Four parallel 850nm lanes over an MPO-12 ribbon carry a full 200 Gbps to 100m, so a QSFP56 port on a Fortinet appliance can uplink to a spine or aggregation switch inside the same data-center hall. Built on 50G-per-lane PAM4 signaling, it doubles the throughput of a 100G SR4 optic on the same MPO multimode cabling.

A 200G SR4 optic is the in-hall 200-gigabit uplink: a QSFP56 port on a Fortinet appliance to a spine switch over structured MPO multimode cabling, at 100m. It reuses the MPO plant already run for 100G SR4. For a 2km single-mode reach step up to the FN-TRAN-QSFP56-FR4, and where 400G is needed on the same short multimode footprint the FN-TRAN-QSFPDD-SR8 is the next step up.

Compatibility

Fits QSFP56 slots on 200G-capable Fortinet appliances and connects over MPO-12 parallel multimode fiber at 200GbE to 100m. Pair it with a matching SR4 optic at the far end. For 2km single-mode use the FN-TRAN-QSFP56-FR4; for a 50G link the FN-TRAN-SFP56-SR applies; for a short port-to-port link the FN-CABLE-QSFP56-DAC-L1 passive DAC replaces the optic and fiber.
