Fortinet 10GbE SFP+ SR Industrial-Temp Transceiver Module, 300m (FN-TRAN-SFP+SRI)

The FN-TRAN-SFP+SRI is the hardened version of Fortinet’s short-range 10GbE SR optic. It runs the same 10GBASE-SR link, 850nm over multimode fibre to 300m on OM3 (400m on OM4) via a duplex LC connector, but is qualified across an industrial -40°C to 85°C range for ruggedized FortiGates and OT deployments where the standard SR’s 0°C to 70°C rating is insufficient. It plugs into any SFP+ cage on a FortiGate, FortiSwitch, or FortiManager and is accepted by the appliance.

Where this module fits

Short-range 10GbE for harsh environments: multimode aggregation and uplinks inside a ruggedized enclosure, factory floor, or outdoor cabinet where temperatures fall outside a normal data-center range. The -40°C to 85°C rating is what distinguishes the SRI from the standard FN-TRAN-SFP+SR; the reach is up to 300m on OM3 and 400m on OM4. For controlled-environment short-range links, the standard SR (which reaches 550m on OM4) is the economical fit.

Compatibility

Fits the SFP+ ports of FortiGate, FortiSwitch, and FortiManager appliances. Pair with OM3/OM4 multimode duplex LC fibre and a matching SR-class optic at the far end. For single-mode distance in a harsh site, use the FN-TRAN-SFP+LRI (10km); for in-rack copper, the FN-CABLE-SFP+ direct-attach cables are lower cost.
