Not every room in a venue is the bowl. Concourses, offices, retail units, and meeting rooms need solid coverage without a carrier-grade directional array overhead. The FortiAP-HD-431G (FAP-HD-431G-A) is the indoor, medium-capacity member of the FortiAP High Density family: a tri-radio 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6E) access point running 4×4:4 MU-MIMO concurrently on 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz for an aggregate PHY rate of 8.407 Gbps, with a 5 Gigabit uplink so the wired side keeps pace.
The AP and a standard mounting kit. Power comes from an 802.3at switch port or the 12 V DC jack, so it slots into ordinary enterprise cabling without an 802.3bt upgrade. Antennas are internal.

The 431G brings the High Density platform’s management and radio optimization to low and medium density indoor spaces, small offices, retail outlets, branch sites, hospitality, and classrooms, where a full UHD array would be overkill. Three concurrent 4×4 radios deliver real tri-band capacity, and because it runs on 802.3at rather than 802.3bt, it deploys on existing PoE+ infrastructure. It is the practical indoor complement to the outdoor UHD units that cover the seating bowl.
802.3at (PoE+) from a switch port runs the 431G at its 25.5 W maximum, or use the 12 V DC jack where PoE is not available. No 802.3bt is required. The GPI-130 injector covers sites without a PoE+ switch nearby.
No per-AP operating license. The 431G is managed by the Fortinet WLAN controller on a FortiGate or through FortiEdge Cloud, sharing the same single-pane management as the rest of the High Density series. FortiCare Premium support (FC-10-HD431- prefix) is optional and sold separately.
Venues and enterprises that want High Density-class management indoors without UHD hardware: offices, branches, retail, hospitality, and classrooms at low to medium density. Where indoor density climbs toward Wi-Fi 7 and 10G uplinks, the FortiAP-HD-441K is the step up.
The FortiAP-HD-441K moves to four Wi-Fi 7 radios at 4×4 with dual 10G uplinks for higher-density indoor areas.

No. The 431G is a Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) tri-radio AP. The Wi-Fi 7 members of the indoor High Density line are the 441K and 443K.
No per-AP operating license. It is managed by a FortiGate or FortiEdge Cloud. FortiCare Premium support (FC-10-HD431- prefix) is optional.
802.3at (PoE+) from a switch, the GPI-130 injector, or a 12 V DC jack. Maximum draw is 25.5 W. No 802.3bt is required.
Up to 200 associated devices, with 99+ active at roughly 1 Mbps each, across three concurrent 4×4:4 radios.
Yes. DataCenter360.ca ships the FAP-HD-431G-A free to all Canadian provinces in 0–1 business days. Hardware sales are for Canadian customers only.
