It is a legacy model: Fortinet stopped taking new orders on 2023-04-16, so DataCenter360.ca supplies FortiGuard and FortiCare renewals for units already in service rather than new appliances. Renewal coverage runs to 2027-04-16 and support ends 2028-04-16.
If you are still running a FortiGate 3000D today, the direct replacement is the FortiGate 3000G; the FortiGate 3200F is the other common landing spot. Both keep your FortiOS policy set and FortiGuard subscriptions, so a migration is a configuration conversion rather than a redesign — we can quote FortiConverter for that. No. The FortiGate 3000D reached End of Order on 2023-04-16, so Fortinet no longer sells new units and DataCenter360.ca cannot source new hardware. We do supply FortiGuard and FortiCare renewals for appliances already in service. For new deployments, see the FortiGate 3000G.
FortiGuard and FortiCare renewals for the FortiGate 3000D are available until 2027-04-16 (the last service extension date). Fortinet support for the platform ends on 2028-04-16. After that the appliance receives no signature updates, firmware fixes, or TAC support.

Yes. FortiConverter performs a one-time configuration conversion from the FortiGate 3000D to the replacement appliance, moving interfaces, policies, objects, and VPN configuration. It is ordered as a service SKU and can be added to your upgrade quote.
The FortiGate 3000D uses Fortinet’s NP6 + CP8 security processors — the NP network processor for firewall and VPN acceleration, and the CP content processor for SSL and signature inspection. Current-generation models use the newer NP7 and CP9/CP10 ASICs, which is where most of the throughput gain in a replacement comes from.
