What’s in the box

Where it’s strong

The NP6/CP9 combination puts most of the heavy lifting in silicon: firewall, IPsec, and traffic-shaping decisions run on the NP6 network processor, while SSL/TLS 1.3 decryption and pattern matching offload to CP9. That split is why the FG-2201E holds 17 Gbps of SSL inspection throughput without the usual cliff-drop seen on CPU-bound firewalls once encrypted traffic dominates the mix, and why it stays in front of high-density server racks and 25/40GE spine links without becoming the bottleneck.
