Small branch offices with IP phones, ceiling-mount access points, or PoE-powered cameras typically need a PoE switch between the firewall and those devices, adding cost, cabling, and one more thing to manage. The FortiWiFi 70G-PoE (FWF-70G-POE-A) removes that intermediate device. Four of its ten GE RJ45 ports deliver 802.3at PoE+ at up to 60 W total, letting you power endpoints directly from the firewall. The integrated Wi-Fi 6 radio covers wireless clients in the same space, and the FortiSP5 NGFW engine handles perimeter security — all from one desktop unit.
Hardware only. In the box: the FWF-70G-POE-A appliance, external wireless antennas, an AC power adapter, and documentation. No licenses are included. FortiGuard services are ordered separately as FC-10-FW70P- subscriptions.

Powering four endpoints directly from the firewall is a real simplification at small branch sites. No separate PoE switch, no extra power circuit, no additional management interface to configure. Paired with the built-in Wi-Fi 6 radio, you can serve wireless clients while running wired PoE+ to phones or a camera in the same room. The FortiSP5 ASIC keeps performance in line with the standard FWF-70G-A: 2.5 Gbps IPS and 1.4 Gbps SSL inspection, despite the added PoE circuitry.
Without a FortiGuard subscription, the PoE ports power devices and the radio creates SSIDs, but IPS, malware scanning, URL filtering, and application control stay dormant. This SKU is correct for replacement deployments where an existing contract transfers to the new unit, or for bench testing. For production branches, pair with FC-10-FW70P-950-02-12 (UTP) for standard NGFW protection, or FC-10-FW70P-809-02-12 (Enterprise) for the full security stack.
SMB branch managers who want one device to handle firewall, PoE switching, and Wi-Fi without a rack. Retail locations running PoE IP phones alongside a ceiling-mount camera and customer Wi-Fi. Managed service providers standardizing on a compact branch appliance that can power PoE endpoints from the same unit enforcing traffic policy.
Both share the FortiSP5 processor and identical security performance specs. The POE-A replaces four standard internal RJ45 ports with 802.3at PoE+ ports and draws more power to supply connected devices. If you have no PoE endpoints at the branch, the standard FWF-70G-A costs less to purchase and operates at lower wattage. If you have even two or three PoE devices on-site, the POE-A variant typically recoups its price premium by eliminating a separate PoE switch.
