Chassis-class boxes like the FortiGate 1001F throw off a lot of log volume once inline. Teams running one often need somewhere to see that data without racking a FortiAnalyzer just to get started. The FortiGate 1001F 1-Year FortiCloud Management, Analysis and Log Retention subscription (FC-10-F1K1F-131-02-12) puts the 1001F under FortiGate Cloud for a full year: browser-based device management, traffic and threat analytics, and a rolling one-year log retention window. It licenses an existing or newly purchased FortiGate 1001F and delivers electronically, so it works the same whether the appliance sits in Toronto or Tokyo.
FortiCloud Management, Analysis and Log Retention is a visibility and operations subscription for the FortiGate 1001F, separate from FortiGuard security content:
It does not add FortiGuard threat-prevention services (IPS, anti-malware, web filtering) or FortiCare hardware/software support. Those run on separate licenses attached to the same FortiGate 1001F.
This term suits a FortiGate 1001F deployment that doesn’t have FortiAnalyzer or FortiManager on-site, a branch or data center where central cloud visibility beats maintaining local logging hardware, and teams that want a year of searchable log history before committing to a longer contract. A 1-year term is also the natural fit when this subscription renews annually alongside other 1-year licenses on the same appliance, or when a longer commitment isn’t yet decided.
This subscription governs where the FortiGate 1001F’s logs live and how they get analyzed. It has no effect on what traffic the firewall blocks. The UTP and Enterprise bundles for the 1001F add or extend FortiGuard security services and are sold as their own SKUs. If the goal is a supported hardware channel rather than log analytics, FortiCare Premium for the 1001F covers that instead. Many customers run FortiCloud Management next to a security bundle, since the two licenses handle different parts of running the appliance.
Activation is electronic, tied to the FortiGate 1001F’s serial number under a FortiCloud account. Nothing ships physically. Once the license is applied, the appliance begins reporting into FortiGate Cloud and the one-year retention window starts filling from that point. A working FortiGate 1001F, new or already in production, is required before this subscription can be activated.
DataCenter360.ca is an authorized Fortinet Select Partner, and because this is an electronically delivered license, the 1-year FortiCloud Management term ships the same day regardless of where the FortiGate 1001F is deployed. Not sure whether a 1-year, 3-year, or 5-year term fits your renewal cycle, or how this stacks against the UTP or Enterprise bundle on the same unit? Ask before ordering and we’ll help line up the right term and coverage.
