Product description

A FortiGate 1800F-DC in a data center rack is only as good as the team keeping its policy current. The 5-Year Managed FortiGate Service (FC-10-D18HF-660-02-60) hands that day-to-day operational load to Fortinet’s own NOC: initial setup, ongoing network and policy change management, and 24×7 coverage for five years on a single 1800F-DC appliance.

What this service covers

This is an operations subscription, not a threat-intelligence license. FortiGuard security feeds (IPS, anti-malware, application control) run on separate subscriptions and continue independently of this service. What the NOC team handles instead:

  • Device setup: initial configuration of the FortiGate 1800F-DC, including interface, routing, and policy baseline work performed by Fortinet-certified engineers.
  • Network change management: ongoing adjustments to routing, VLANs, HA pairing, and interface configuration as the environment evolves.
  • Policy change management: firewall rule and object updates requested through the standard change process, applied and validated by the NOC.
  • 24×7 availability: change requests and operational support are not limited to business hours, matching the always-on nature of a data-center firewall running at up to 198 Gbps firewall throughput and 22 Gbps IPS throughput.

The FortiGate 1800F-DC itself is the DC-powered variant of the 1800F platform, built for data-center racks that run on -48V/-60V DC feeds rather than standard AC, sharing the same ASIC and port layout (4x 100GE/40GE, 12x 25GE/10GE, plus dedicated HA slots) as its AC sibling.

Who runs this service

Teams that own the 1800F-DC but not a dedicated in-house NOC lean on this the most: smaller security teams responsible for a data-center firewall alongside a much broader set of duties, organizations standardizing change control across multiple sites, or anyone who wants a documented, audited process for every rule change touching a production firewall. It also suits environments where staff turnover or on-call gaps make in-house 24×7 coverage impractical to sustain.

How this differs from a FortiGuard bundle

It’s easy to conflate this with the UTP or Enterprise subscription bundles, but they solve different problems. UTP and Enterprise licenses turn on FortiGuard’s automated threat feeds: IPS signatures, malware databases, web filtering categories, and similar content that updates the appliance without a person involved. This NOC service is the opposite: a human team executing changes you request, on a schedule you set. Most 1800F-DC deployments run both, an Enterprise or UTP bundle for the automated protection layer and this NOC service for the operational layer, since neither one replaces the other.

Activation and delivery

The service activates against the FortiGate 1800F-DC’s serial number after purchase; DataCenter360.ca coordinates onboarding with the Fortinet NOC to confirm scope and change-request procedure. Nothing physical ships. There is no hardware component to this order, and the license term (5 years here) runs from activation regardless of when in that window change requests are submitted.

Buying from DataCenter360.ca

DataCenter360.ca is an authorized Fortinet Select Partner, and this NOC service is available to customers anywhere, delivered and activated electronically with no shipping involved. If a 3-year or 1-year term fits the budget cycle better, or if FortiCare support coverage needs to be paired alongside it, we can walk through the combination before checkout.

FortiGate 1800F-DC Managed FortiGate Service – Frequently Asked Questions

Does this NOC service include FortiGuard security updates?
No. This subscription covers Fortinet NOC staff performing device setup and network/policy change management on the FortiGate 1800F-DC. FortiGuard threat-intelligence feeds (IPS, anti-malware, filtering) are separate subscriptions and run independently.
Do I need existing hardware for this to apply?
Yes. This is a license only, activated against a FortiGate 1800F-DC you already own or are purchasing separately. It does not include the appliance.
Can this be purchased and used outside Canada?
Yes. Fortinet subscription services are delivered and activated electronically, so this NOC service is available to customers worldwide, not just Canada.
Is 24×7 coverage really included, or just business-hours support?
24×7 availability is part of this service tier: change requests and operational support from the Fortinet NOC are not restricted to standard business hours.
What happens when the 5-year term ends?
The managed service needs to be renewed under the same SKU family to continue NOC-driven setup and change management. Without renewal, ongoing policy and network changes on the 1800F-DC fall back to whatever in-house or partner process is in place. DataCenter360.ca can process renewals ahead of expiry.
