What This License Covers

AMP is Fortinet’s file-content security layer. On a FortiGate 2000E running this subscription, it keeps the antivirus and mobile malware signature sets current, adds virus outbreak protection by querying FortiGuard’s global threat intelligence for hash matches ahead of signature releases, and lets the firewall send suspicious files to the cloud-based FortiGate Cloud Sandbox for behavioral analysis. Content Disarm & Reconstruct and AI-based heuristic AV detection are part of the same package on supported models.

Who Needs Standalone AMP

This SKU fits teams that already run FortiCare support and IPS or web filtering separately, and just need the file-inspection piece renewed or added on its own, typically a co-termed FortiGate 2000E where budget or procurement rules call for line-item services instead of a bundle. AMP vs. the FortiGuard Bundles

AMP is included in every FortiGuard bundle Fortinet sells for the FortiGate 2000E, so the question isn’t whether AMP is covered elsewhere, it’s whether the other services in a bundle are worth adding at the same time.
