Product description

Operational technology networks run equipment that can’t be patched on a normal cycle: PLCs, SCADA systems, HMIs, and sensors from vendors who never anticipated internet-connected threats. The FortiGate 200F 5-Year FortiGuard OT Security Service (FC-10-F200F-159-02-60) extends the FortiGate 200F’s visibility and enforcement into that layer, giving security teams a structured view of what OT devices are present, what vulnerabilities affect them, and how to block exploitation without touching the devices themselves. Five-year term, subscription only, electronic delivery worldwide.

What the OT Security Service covers

Three functional components activate on the FortiGate 200F for the full five-year term:

  • OT Device Detection: FortiGuard Labs maintains a continuously updated device signature package that identifies and classifies OT endpoints by vendor, type, and model. The FortiGate 200F uses these signatures to populate its device inventory, giving NAC policies and security monitoring a factual picture of what is on the OT network rather than relying on manual asset tracking.
  • OT Vulnerability Correlation and Virtual Patching: once an OT device is identified, the service correlates it against known CVEs. Where a patch cannot be applied to the device itself, the FortiGate 200F can apply a targeted IPS virtual patch at the network level, blocking known exploit traffic against that device without requiring a firmware update or maintenance window on the OT side.
  • OT Application Control and IPS Signatures: additional detection signatures for industrial protocols and applications (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870, proprietary vendor protocols) let the FortiGate 200F inspect and enforce policy on OT traffic that generic IPS rule sets do not cover. Application Control profiles and IPS profiles on the firewall reference these signatures directly.

Who needs this service

This service is for organizations running the FortiGate 200F in a network that includes operational technology: manufacturing plants, utilities, critical infrastructure, smart buildings, or any environment where IT and OT converge on the same firewall. If the 200F is positioned as the IT/OT boundary device, the OT Security Service turns passive traffic inspection into active OT-aware enforcement. It also matters for compliance: frameworks like IEC 62443 and NERC CIP require documented asset inventories and vulnerability management for OT networks. The device detection and vulnerability correlation components address both requirements at the firewall level.

The FortiGate 200F supports the OT Security Service on current FortiOS 7.x releases.

Activation and delivery

This is an electronic license. After purchase, DataCenter360.ca delivers the activation key by email within 0–1 business days. Registration is completed through the Fortinet support portal (support.fortinet.com), where the key is applied to the registered FortiGate 200F serial number. The OT Security feature set activates immediately on the next FortiGuard update cycle after registration. No hardware ships.

The five-year term begins on the activation date, not the purchase date. Renewing before expiry is recommended to avoid a gap in device detection database updates, which would leave new OT devices unclassified until the subscription restores.

OT Security vs. the standard FortiGuard bundles

The FortiGuard ATP, UTP, and Enterprise bundles for the FortiGate 200F cover network security, malware protection, web filtering, DNS filtering, and anti-spam. The OT Security Service is not part of those bundles. It is an à-la-carte subscription that addresses the operational technology layer specifically. It can be purchased alongside a bundle, or standalone on a FortiGate 200F that is deployed purely as an OT/IT boundary device with its own coverage model.

Organizations with an OT network that also needs full perimeter security should consider whether the FortiGate 200F UTP or Enterprise bundle covers the IT side, with this OT service added on top. The two do not overlap.

Buying from DataCenter360.ca

DataCenter360.ca is an authorized Fortinet Select Partner. The FortiGate 200F 5-Year OT Security Service is stocked and priced for immediate purchase. Licensing keys are delivered electronically to any country, typically within one business day of payment. No shipping cost applies to electronic licenses. Does the OT Security Service include FortiCare technical support?
No. The OT Security Service (FC-10-F200F-159-02-60) is a FortiGuard security subscription, not a support contract. FortiCare Essential or Premium must be purchased separately to cover firmware updates, web support, and hardware RMA for the FortiGate 200F.

Is the OT Security Service included in the FortiGuard Enterprise or UTP bundle?
No. The OT Security Service is not part of any FortiGuard bundle tier (ATP, UTP, or Enterprise). It is an à-la-carte subscription that must be ordered separately. It can coexist with any bundle on the same FortiGate 200F.

Can this license be used on any FortiGate, or only the 200F?
This SKU (FC-10-F200F-159-02-60) is specific to the FortiGate 200F. Each FortiGuard OT Security license is model-specific and must match the FortiGate serial number it is applied to. Other FortiGate models have their own OT Security SKUs.

What happens to OT device detection if the subscription expires?
Once the subscription lapses, the FortiGate 200F stops receiving FortiGuard OT device signature updates. Previously detected devices remain in the inventory, but newly connected OT endpoints will not be classified until the subscription is renewed and an update cycle completes. Virtual patching also stops receiving new patch signatures on expiry.

Is this license available for customers outside Canada?
Yes. The FortiGuard OT Security Service is an electronic license with no geographic restriction on delivery. DataCenter360.ca fulfills orders worldwide. The activation key is emailed and registered on the Fortinet support portal, which is accessible from any country.
