Product description

Malware keeps getting more sophisticated, and file-based attacks remain the most reliable way threat actors reach inside a network. The FC-10-0080E-100-02-12 activates FortiGuard Advanced Malware Protection on the FortiGate 80E-POE for one year, layering antivirus signatures, mobile malware detection, and cloud sandbox analysis into a single subscription — without committing to a full UTP or Enterprise bundle.

What Advanced Malware Protection covers

The FortiGuard AMP service activates three complementary defenses on your FortiGate 80F:

  • Traditional antivirus signatures — continuously updated definitions that catch known malware, ransomware variants, and trojans at the file level.
  • Mobile malware detection — extends coverage to Android APK files and other mobile threats that cross the perimeter via web or email traffic.
  • FortiGate Cloud Sandbox — suspicious files that bypass signature inspection are submitted inline to Fortinet’s cloud sandbox for dynamic analysis before they reach the endpoint.

The three layers work together so that zero-days caught by the sandbox can update signatures for the broader FortiGuard network within hours.

Who buys this service

Teams running the FortiGate 80F on a tight budget often activate AMP first: file-based threats (ransomware, info-stealers, dropper malware) are the most common attack vector, and this single subscription closes that gap quickly. It makes sense for branch offices, small networks, or deployments where policy already blocks most web categories but incoming file traffic is still a risk. If your existing firewall policy is mostly allow-all, pairing AMP with IPS and web filtering gives you a meaningful step up in coverage.

Activation and delivery

You receive a FortiCloud activation key by email within 0–1 business days of your order. Activate it directly in the FortiGate GUI under System > FortiGuard or via the FortiCare support portal. No hardware ships. The subscription runs for 365 days from the activation date.

Standalone AMP vs. a full FortiGuard bundle

Buying AMP on its own makes sense when you need one targeted layer or are phasing in services over budget cycles. The UTP and Enterprise bundles include AMP alongside IPS, web filtering, antispam, and (for Enterprise) FortiCare 24×7 support — often at a lower per-service cost when you need three or more services simultaneously. The comparison below shows what each bundle adds to this standalone license.

Buying from DataCenter360.ca

DataCenter360.ca is a Fortinet Select Partner and authorized reseller serving organizations across Canada and worldwide. Your key is sourced directly through the partner channel and activated through FortiCare — no gray-market risk. Orders placed before 2 p.m. Eastern on a business day ship the same day electronically.

Does Advanced Malware Protection replace a full antivirus solution on endpoints?

No. AMP on the FortiGate inspects network traffic as files cross the perimeter. It does not protect endpoints after a file has been downloaded and opened locally. Pairing it with a FortiClient endpoint license provides layered coverage.

How is this service licensed — by device or by user count?

The FC-10-0080E-100-02-12 is licensed per firewall unit (the FortiGate 80E-POE). It does not impose a per-user or per-seat limit; the FortiGate protects all traffic flowing through it regardless of how many devices are behind it.

Can I renew this subscription when it expires?

Yes. Fortinet renewal SKUs follow the same FC-10-0080E-100-02-12 ordering code and can be purchased before or at expiry. Renewing before the expiry date is recommended to avoid a gap in threat intelligence updates.

Is the FortiGate 80E-POE still supported with this license?

Fortinet continues to offer FortiGuard subscriptions for the 80E-POE series. If your hardware is approaching end-of-support, consider planning an upgrade to the FortiGate 80F or newer generation while keeping the subscription active on your existing unit.

Is this available worldwide or only in Canada?

This is a software subscription with no physical shipment. It is available for purchase worldwide and delivered electronically to any country where Fortinet licensing is permitted.
