Essential does not include telephone support or advance hardware replacement — those are available at the Premium and Elite tiers.

FortiCare Essential covers support and hardware warranty for the FortiGateRugged 70F. It does not activate FortiGuard threat services such as IPS signatures, DNS filtering, application control, or antivirus. If the FGR-70F protects a network segment that requires active FortiGuard inspection, those services can be purchased as standalone licenses or as part of a subscription bundle applied to the same unit.

The return-and-replace process follows Fortinet’s standard FortiCare procedures. FortiCare Essential covers the hardware unit as a whole, including the bypass ports. If a hardware failure affects bypass behavior, you can open an RMA case through the support portal. Firmware fixes related to bypass port software behavior also come through the standard FortiCare update channel.
