What Changes When You Upgrade to Elite on the 61F

The three upgrades are the same regardless of FortiWiFi model: what matters is how they apply to a 61F deployment specifically.

• Critical response under 15 minutes: The 61F handles both firewall and wireless for many single-appliance branches. A P1 outage means no internet, no WiFi, and often no business operations. The Elite SLA gets a Fortinet engineer engaged before most teams have finished drafting their internal incident ticket.
• Priority RMA without an add-on: Standard Premium has advance replacement only with the Priority RMA add-on (210 SKU). The upgrade to Elite rolls Priority RMA in. If you were already paying for the add-on separately, upgrading to Elite may make more financial sense.
• Elite portal and extended LTS: Case tracking and extended firmware support for devices approaching their standard support end dates.

Upgrade vs. Starting Fresh at Elite

The upgrade path (204) is cost-efficient when Premium time remains on the contract. You pay the tier delta for the upgrade period rather than the full Elite rate. If Premium has just expired or does not exist on the device, buy the full Elite subscription (FC-10-W061F-284-02-12) directly. The upgrade activation will fail without an active Premium contract present at the time of registration.
