What the OT Security Service Covers

This is a 1-year FortiGuard subscription for the FortiGate 200G (model code FG2HG) that enables FortiOS’s OT security stack. It activates:

• OT device detection and asset visibility — automatically identifies OT devices, vendors, firmware versions, and communication patterns across your industrial segment.
• OT vulnerability correlation — maps discovered OT assets against a continuously updated CVE database specific to industrial control systems and flags exploitable risk without requiring active scanning.
• OT virtual patching — more than 1,000 virtual patches protect unpatched PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, and field devices at the network layer, blocking known exploits without touching the device itself or requiring maintenance windows.
• OT Application Control and IPS rules — over 1,100 OT application signatures and 3,300+ industrial protocol rules (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and others) allow per-policy enforcement and anomaly detection at deep packet level.
• OT dashboards and compliance reports — purpose-built dashboards give OT-specific risk posture at a glance; built-in compliance mapping covers NERC CIP, IEC 62443, and related OT security frameworks.

All OT intelligence updates come from FortiGuard Labs continuously, with no manual signature imports or scheduled downtime.

This service is for organizations running the FortiGate 200G as the primary firewall or IT/OT segmentation device. Specific use cases include:

• Manufacturing networks where production equipment, SCADA, or DCS systems are connected to the corporate LAN
• Utilities managing power generation, water treatment, or pipeline SCADA infrastructure

Activation and Delivery

This is an electronic license. After purchase, Fortinet delivers the activation key by email within 0 to 1 business days. Registration is completed in the FortiCare portal at support.fortinet.com. Once the subscription is active, OT Security is enabled inside FortiOS under Security Profiles, no firmware update required. As the subscription nears its end date, Fortinet issues renewal notifications through the portal.

OT Security vs. Standard FortiGuard Bundles

The Enterprise (809), UTP (950), and ATP (811) FortiGuard bundles deliver comprehensive IT security — IPS, anti-malware, URL/DNS filtering, and more — but OT Security is not included in any of those bundles. It is only available as a standalone à-la-carte subscription. That means organizations already running an Enterprise or UTP bundle can add OT Security on top, and the OT-specific dashboards and signatures integrate with the existing FortiOS policy engine. There is no conflict or duplication between OT Security and any existing FortiGuard tier.
