Is the FortiGate 900G-DC hardware identical to the 900G except for power?
Yes. The FortiGate 900G and 900G-DC share the same NP7 + CP9 ASIC platform, throughput figures (26 Gbps IPS, 22 Gbps NGFW), interface layout, and feature set. The DC variant uses a 48–60 VDC input instead of 100–240 VAC and ships with a different power supply module. Because they are separate hardware models with distinct serial-number ranges, their service SKUs also differ: FC-10-FG9H0- (AC) versus FC-10-FD9H0- (DC).
What happens when the 1-year term expires?
Once FortiCare Premium expires, TAC support, advance RMA, and FortiOS firmware access for that device are no longer covered. You can renew before expiry to keep coverage continuous, or purchase a new subscription after the fact (coverage starts from the new registration date, not backdated). Fortinet may charge a reinstatement or lapsed-coverage fee on late renewals depending on how long the gap has been.
Does FortiCare Premium include Priority RMA?
FortiCare Premium includes standard advance replacement, which ships a replacement unit before the defective one is returned. Priority RMA (FC-10-FD9H0-210-02-12) is an add-on service that commits to next-business-day delivery of the replacement unit and is sold separately. If same-next-day swap is required by an SLA, the Priority RMA add-on is available and compatible with FortiCare Premium.
Can this be applied to a unit already in service without a lapse?
Yes, as long as the current FortiCare coverage has not yet expired. Register the new key in the Fortinet Support Portal and Fortinet will co-term it to the existing expiry, extending coverage forward from that date. If the existing support has already lapsed, the new term starts from the registration date and a gap period may exist.
Is delivery restricted to Canada or North America?
No. The registration key is delivered electronically and works from any location. DataCenter360.ca ships keys worldwide. The FortiGate 900G-DC hardware is a separate question — hardware shipping depends on the platform and export regulations — but this license SKU has no geographic restriction on delivery or activation.
