The FN-CABLE-QSFP28-4SFP28-5 is the longest passive 100G-to-4x25G breakout DAC in Fortinet’s lineup at 5 metres, giving a fan-out enough reach to span several racks in a row. One QSFP28 connector serves the 100GbE breakout port; four SFP28 tails feed 25GbE access ports. All optics are integrated and Fortinet-qualified, so both sides are accepted by the appliance. Being passive twinax, the whole split stays low-cost and adds minimal heat.

5m is the reach ceiling for passive 100G breakout copper, letting one 100GbE aggregation port feed 25G servers or FortiSwitch access units several racks away. It is the tool for a cross-row 100G-to-25G fan-out that still wants the cost and power advantages of copper over optics. For spans beyond 5m, move the design to optical breakout on fiber.
The QSFP28 end needs a 100GbE port in 4x25G breakout mode; the four SFP28 ends land on 25GbE SFP28 ports. Shorter fan-outs use the 1m FN-CABLE-QSFP28-4SFP28-1 or 3m FN-CABLE-QSFP28-4SFP28-3. For a straight 100G-to-100G link, use the FN-CABLE-QSFP28-5.
