The FN-TRAN-QSFP28-BIDI-I is the SR1.2-standard member of Fortinet’s 100G BiDi pair. Like the FN-TRAN-QSFP28-BIDI it carries 100 GbE over one duplex-LC multimode fiber pair using bidirectional 850 and 900nm wavelengths, but it is built to the 100G-BASE-SR1.2 specification rather than SR-BiDi. Match the variant to the standard the equipment at the other end of the link expects, so the two optics negotiate cleanly on the same duplex plant.

Like the standard BiDi optic, the FN-TRAN-QSFP28-BIDI-I lets a 100G uplink reuse existing duplex-LC multimode cabling instead of MPO. Its role is specific: choose it when the far-end switch or optic is specified to 100G-BASE-SR1.2, so both ends speak the same variant. Where the far end is SR-BiDi, use the FN-TRAN-QSFP28-BIDI; where the plant is MPO parallel multimode, the FN-TRAN-QSFP28-SR is the right module.

Fits QSFP28 slots on 100G-capable Fortinet appliances and connects over duplex-LC multimode fiber to 100m. It must pair with a matching SR1.2 BiDi optic at the far end.
