The FN-TRAN-QSFP28-LR carries 100-gigabit links across distance. This 100GBASE-LR4 module multiplexes four wavelengths around 1300nm over single-mode fiber to reach 10km on a duplex LC connector, and installs in the QSFP28 cages of 100G-capable FortiGate platforms. As a Fortinet-qualified optic, it is recognized on the appliance rather than rejected as an unknown module.

Fits QSFP28 ports on 100G-capable FortiGate models. Requires OS2 single-mode duplex LC fiber with a matching LR4 optic at the far end. For sub-100m in-row links, the FN-TRAN-QSFP28-SR is the economical multimode choice.
