The FN-TRAN-QSFP28-SR delivers 100-gigabit short-range connectivity for Fortinet’s high-throughput platforms. This 100GBASE-SR4 module uses four 25G lanes over multimode fiber at 850nm to reach 100m on OM4, terminated on an MPO-12 connector, and installs in the QSFP28 cages of 100G-capable FortiGate appliances. Being Fortinet-qualified, it is accepted on the appliance instead of raising an unsupported-optic flag.

Short-range 100GbE is the backbone inside a data-center row: spine-to-leaf and firewall-to-core links on high-end FortiGate platforms where the run stays under 100m on OM4. The four-lane MPO cabling can also be broken out to 4x 25G with a breakout cable where the design calls for it. Beyond 100m, use the single-mode FN-TRAN-QSFP28-LR (10km).
Fits QSFP28 ports on 100G-capable FortiGate models. Requires OM4 multimode MPO-12 trunk cabling and a matching SR4 module at the far end. For longer runs, the FN-TRAN-QSFP28-LR reaches 10km over single-mode fiber.
