The FN-TRAN-QSFPDD-FR4 carries a full 400 GbE to 2km over a single pair of single-mode fibers on a duplex LC. It is the duplex-fiber 2km option in Fortinet’s 400G line, multiplexing four wavelengths onto one fiber pair so the run uses simple LC cabling rather than the MPO-12 ribbon of the parallel DR4+ module. That makes it the natural fit where existing single-mode duplex plant should carry a 400G upgrade across a campus.

A 400G FR4 optic connects a Fortinet appliance across a campus or between buildings within 2km over duplex single-mode fiber, reusing the same LC plant a site already runs for lower-speed links. For a parallel single-mode 2km run on MPO-12 the FN-TRAN-QSFPDD-DR4+ is the alternative, for a short 100m multimode link the FN-TRAN-QSFPDD-SR8 applies, and for a full 10km reach step up to the FN-TRAN-QSFPDD-LR4.

Compatibility

Fits QSFP-DD slots on 400G-capable Fortinet appliances and connects over duplex-LC single-mode fiber at 400GbE to 2km. Pair it with a matching FR4 optic at the far end. For an MPO-12 parallel single-mode 2km link use the FN-TRAN-QSFPDD-DR4+; for 10km the FN-TRAN-QSFPDD-LR4; for a copper in-rack link the FN-CABLE-QSFPDD-DAC-01 passive DAC replaces the optic and fiber.
