Fortinet 1GbE SFP BiDi Transceiver Module, 10km, TX 1310nm (FN-TRAN-SFP-1BU10)

The FN-TRAN-SFP-1BU10 is the ‘upstream’ half of Fortinet’s 10km 1-gigabit BiDi pair, the mirror of the 1BD10. It transmits at 1310nm and receives at 1490nm, carrying a full 1GbE link on a single single-mode fibre strand out to 10km on one simplex LC connector. Fit it in any SFP or SFP+ cage on a FortiGate, FortiSwitch, or FortiManager; as a Fortinet-qualified optic it is accepted by the appliance rather than flagged as unknown.

Where this module fits

The 1BU10 completes a single-fibre 1GbE BiDi span: install it opposite an FN-TRAN-SFP-1BD10 across up to 10km of single-mode fibre. It is the standard reach for BiDi links where conserving fibre strands is the priority, such as leased metro fibre, congested conduit, or fibre-to-the-site connections. The wide -40°C to 85°C rating also suits outdoor and OT installations. For a 40km reach, step up to the FN-TRAN-SFP-1BU40.

Compatibility

Fits SFP and SFP+ ports on FortiGate, FortiSwitch, and FortiManager appliances. It links only to its opposite-wavelength partner, the FN-TRAN-SFP-1BD10 (TX 1490 / RX 1310); two 1BU10s cannot form a link. Use OS2 single-mode fibre with a simplex LC connector. Where two strands are available, the duplex FN-TRAN-LX is the conventional 1GbE 10km option.
