Fortinet 10GbE SFP+ BiDi Transceiver Module, 30km, TX 1331nm (FN-TRAN-SFP+BD33)

The FN-TRAN-SFP+BD33 is the second half of Fortinet’s 10-gigabit BiDi pair, the mirror of the BD27. It transmits at 1331nm and receives at 1271nm, carrying a full 10GbE link on a single single-mode fibre strand out to 30km on one simplex LC connector. Fit it in any SFP+ cage on a FortiGate, FortiSwitch, or FortiManager; as a Fortinet-qualified optic it is accepted by the appliance rather than flagged as unknown.

Where this module fits

The BD33 is the ‘B’ end that completes a single-fibre 10GbE BiDi span: install it opposite an FN-TRAN-SFP+BD27 across up to 30km of single-mode fibre. Like its partner it is meant for links where conserving fibre strands is the priority, such as leased metro fibre, congested conduit, or remote-site backhaul, while still delivering long-reach 10-gigabit throughput.

Compatibility

Fits the SFP+ ports of FortiGate, FortiSwitch, and FortiManager appliances. It links only to its opposite-wavelength partner, the FN-TRAN-SFP+BD27 (TX 1271 / RX 1331); two BD33s cannot form a link. Use OS2 single-mode fibre and a simplex LC connector. Where two strands are available, a duplex FN-TRAN-SFP+LR pair is the more common 10km option.
