What this service covers

• 24×7 log monitoring: Fortinet SOC analysts continuously review the FortiGate 1800F’s security event logs, correlating activity against current threat intelligence rather than waiting on a scheduled review.
• Incident triage: flagged events are assessed for severity and context before they ever reach the customer, filtering routine noise from activity that indicates a real compromise attempt.
• SOC escalation: confirmed incidents are escalated with the analysis already done, so an internal team (or DataCenter360.ca, if you use our managed services) picks up a scoped alert instead of a raw log dump.
• FortiAnalyzer Cloud included: the service bundles FortiAnalyzer Cloud log retention and analytics, giving the SOC the storage and correlation platform it needs to work from.

This is a managed-detection service, not an additional security engine. The FortiGate 1800F still needs its own FortiGuard security subscriptions (IPS, AV, web filtering, etc.) generating the logs SOCaaS reviews.

One service, not a bundle line item

SOCaaS is ordered à la carte and does not appear as a line inside the FortiGuard ATP, UTP, or Enterprise bundles for the FortiGate 1800F. Those bundles govern what the firewall itself detects (IPS, malware, web categories); SOCaaS governs who watches what the firewall reports. Most FortiGate 1800F deployments running SOCaaS also carry a FortiGuard bundle underneath it, since the SOC needs meaningful log volume from active security profiles to review.

Activation and delivery

The license is issued electronically and registered to the FortiGate 1800F by serial number, with FortiAnalyzer Cloud provisioned as part of onboarding. No hardware ships. Once active, Fortinet’s SOC begins reviewing logs immediately for the full 12-month term; a valid FortiGate 1800F with logging configured is required before activation.
