Product description

Industrial networks don’t match the threat model that enterprise firewalls were originally designed for. The FortiGate 201F carries strong NGFW credentials — 5 Gbps IPS throughput, 3 million concurrent sessions, dual 10GE uplinks — but its default inspection engine speaks Ethernet and IP, not Modbus, DNP3, or EtherNet/IP. The FC-10-F201F-159-02-60 fills that gap: a five-year FortiGuard OT Security Service subscription that trains the 201F to understand and protect operational technology traffic.

What the OT Security Service covers

FortiGuard OT Security Service extends the FortiGate 201F’s inspection stack with a purpose-built set of capabilities for ICS and SCADA environments:

  • OT dashboards and compliance reports: purpose-built visibility into connected OT devices, communication patterns, and compliance posture against industrial standards.
  • OT application and service detection: identifies hundreds of industrial applications and protocols across the network, including Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and others.
  • OT vulnerability correlation: cross-references detected devices against the FortiGuard vulnerability database to flag known CVEs in PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, and other OT endpoints.
  • OT virtual patching: deploys IPS signatures to block exploit attempts targeting unpatched OT systems, buying time between vendor patch cycles.
  • OT-specific signatures (Application Control and IPS rules): continuously updated rules tuned to industrial protocols and attack techniques, distributed through the FortiGuard network.

Who this license is for

This subscription suits organizations running a FortiGate 201F at the IT/OT network boundary — manufacturing facilities, utilities, water treatment plants, oil and gas operations, or any environment where industrial control systems share network space with IT infrastructure. The 201F’s 16 GE RJ45 ports, 8 SFP slots, and dual 10GE uplinks make it a capable OT DMZ firewall or segmentation device between plant-floor and corporate networks.

Because the FortiGate 201F reached End-of-Order (EOO) status in March 2026, this SKU serves primarily as a renewal for units already deployed in production. Service license extensions remain available until the Last Service Extension Date (LSED) of March 2030, so teams running the 201F can continue receiving OT threat intelligence without replacing hardware ahead of schedule.

Activation and delivery

FC-10-F201F-159-02-60 is a pure subscription license. No hardware ships. After purchase, Fortinet delivers a contract registration key by email within 0–1 business days. The key is registered at support.fortinet.com against the 201F’s serial number, and OT signature packages begin downloading through the FortiGuard distribution network automatically.

The five-year term starts from the activation date. If an existing OT Security subscription is already running on the unit, Fortinet stacks the renewal onto the current expiry rather than starting immediately — so buying early does not lose any time.

OT Security Service and the standard FortiGuard bundles

The standard FortiGuard subscription bundles for the FortiGate 201F — UTP (950) and Enterprise (809) — do not include the OT Security Service. That service is an OT-specific add-on, separately priced because it applies only to networks with industrial infrastructure. Organizations in manufacturing or critical infrastructure typically carry both a UTP or Enterprise bundle for general-purpose security and the OT Security Service for the plant-floor layer. They complement each other rather than overlap.

Buying from DataCenter360.ca

DataCenter360.ca is an authorized Fortinet Select Partner. This renewal delivers electronically — no shipping wait, no customs clearance. Orders are fulfilled within 0–1 business days. Contact us for a formal quote, multi-year pricing, or guidance on stacking this renewal against an existing active contract on your FortiGate 201F.

Does the OT Security Service replace the standard FortiGuard IPS subscription?
No. The OT Security Service adds OT-specific IPS signatures, application detection, and dashboards on top of the base IPS engine. It is separate from the FortiGuard IPS subscription included in UTP and Enterprise bundles, and both can run on the FortiGate 201F simultaneously without conflict.

The FortiGate 201F is End-of-Order — can I still renew this service?
Yes. End-of-Order means Fortinet no longer accepts new hardware orders for the 201F, but service license extensions remain purchasable until the Last Service Extension Date (LSED), which is March 2030. You can renew or extend the OT Security Service on any deployed 201F unit through that date.

Is this license delivered worldwide?
Yes. Subscription licenses are electronic and can be delivered to any country. DataCenter360.ca processes and fulfills license orders globally. Hardware orders are Canada-only; this SKU contains no hardware component.

What OT protocols does FortiGuard OT Security cover?
FortiGuard OT signatures cover a broad range of ICS and SCADA protocols including Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, BACnet, and others. Fortinet continuously updates the signature database as new industrial protocols and OT-targeted exploits are identified. The full protocol list is maintained on the FortiGuard portal.

Can I stack this 5-year renewal on top of an existing active OT Security contract?
Yes. When a new OT Security subscription is registered against a FortiGate 201F that already has an active contract, Fortinet appends the new term starting from the current expiry date. No existing service time is lost. This makes purchasing ahead of expiry safe and straightforward.
