FortiCare Elite unlocks three capabilities that Premium does not include:

• 15-minute P1 response: For severity-1 network outages, Fortinet’s Elite SLA cuts the initial response time from 1 hour to 15 minutes. That gap matters in environments where every minute of downtime has measurable cost.
• Priority RMA included: Under Premium, Next-Day or Priority RMA is an optional add-on. At the Elite tier, Priority RMA is built into the contract at no extra charge.
• Elite monitoring portal: FortiGate products on Elite have access to Fortinet’s Elite monitoring and extended LTS firmware support, providing visibility and firmware continuity beyond what Premium offers.

FortiGuard subscriptions run independently and are not affected by this upgrade.

Who Needs This

This upgrade is a practical choice for network teams running the FortiGate 401F in high-throughput or business-critical roles where the 1-hour response window under Premium is the limiting factor. It also suits organizations that purchased an Enterprise or UTP bundle — which includes FortiCare Premium — and want to step up to Elite-level response without restructuring the entire service contract.
