Who Needs a 3-Year Elite Contract

A 3-year Elite contract works well for teams that want to minimize annual budget conversations while keeping deployment flexibility at the 3-year mark. It is common in project-based deployments where the support window aligns with a building lease, a network refresh cycle, or a managed service contract. The 15-minute critical response SLA is particularly worthwhile when the FortiGate 61F is the only internet gateway at a location where a 2-hour TAC wait time is unacceptable.

Activation and Delivery

After purchase you receive a Fortinet registration code by email. Register it at support.fortinet.com under your FortiGate 61F’s serial number. Activation is immediate and the 3-year term starts on the registration date. Orders placed on business days are processed same day and registration codes are typically delivered within an hour.

Elite vs. Bundled Options

What happens when the 3-year term expires?
You need to renew before expiry to maintain Elite coverage. Fortinet Support Portal sends reminders in advance. Without an active contract, TAC access, firmware updates, and Elite Monitoring Portal access are suspended until a renewal is registered. Can this license be activated immediately after purchase?
Yes. The registration code is sent by email after purchase. Once registered at support.fortinet.com, the license activates on the same day. No hardware needs to be shipped or received.

The Elite Monitoring Portal is available for FortiGate and FortiWiFi models on Elite-tier contracts. It is not available for FortiAP or FortiSwitch devices, which have different management toolsets.
Can this license be purchased outside Canada?
