FortiSandbox Cloud is a cloud-hosted behavioral analysis service. When the FG-91G’s AV engine encounters a file with no matching signature, it submits the file to FortiSandbox Cloud, where it is executed in a controlled environment and analyzed for malicious behavior. If the file is malicious, the verdict is fed back to the FortiGate and the file is blocked.

AMP at the firewall catches threats in transit and provides a perimeter-level layer of malware prevention. It is designed to complement, not replace, endpoint AV solutions. Files that arrive via USB, removable media, or encrypted channels that bypass the firewall are outside its scope.
