The FortiGate 91G is a current-generation ‘G’ series model, actively sold and fully supported with FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions available for 1, 3, and 5-year terms.

Performance is identical — both use the same SP5 ASIC and hardware platform. The FortiGate 91G adds a 120 GB onboard SSD for local logging and reporting without requiring a separate FortiAnalyzer. Choose the 91G when you want on-box log storage at this performance tier.

The 91G delivers nearly double the threat protection (2.2 Gbps vs 1.3 Gbps), nearly triple the firewall throughput (28 Gbps vs 10 Gbps), and double the concurrent session capacity (3 M vs 1.4 M). Both include onboard SSD storage — the 91G has 120 GB vs 64 GB on the 71G — and both feature dual 10 GE shared-media WAN ports on the 91G vs plain GE RJ45 WAN on the 71G.
