What This Service Covers

The 4-Hour Hardware and Onsite Engineer (service code -212-) is the highest tier of Fortinet Priority RMA. Within four hours of exchange confirmation, a courier delivers a replacement FGR-50G-5G unit to the physical site. A separate engineer arrives, installs the appliance, and takes the defective hardware with them. Coverage runs 365 days a year, including weekends and public holidays.

This is an add-on contract that requires an active FortiCare Premium or Elite per-device contract on the same unit. It is not available with FortiCare Essential. Here is how the three support tiers compare before adding Priority RMA:

Who This Is For

Activation and Delivery

The FC-10-FR5G5-212-02-60 is a subscription license. After purchase, Fortinet delivers the activation key electronically, and it is registered through the Fortinet Support Portal against the FGR-50G-5G’s serial number. There is no hardware shipment for the subscription itself. Coverage begins from the registration date.

With -211-, a courier delivers replacement hardware within four hours and your team performs the install. The -212- service adds an on-site engineer who arrives separately, racks and cables the unit, and removes the defective hardware. Choose -212- when site access restrictions or staff qualifications make internal swaps impractical.
Does this service cover weekends and public holidays?

Can this add-on be registered to an FGR-50G-5G that already has an active FortiCare contract?
Yes. As long as the existing FortiCare contract is Premium or Elite and is active on the device, the Priority RMA add-on can be registered to the same serial number through the Fortinet Support Portal.
What does the on-site engineer do, and what is the customer’s responsibility?
The engineer racks and cables the replacement appliance and removes the defective unit. Configuration, FortiGuard service reconnection, and policy verification remain the customer’s responsibility. Fortinet TAC can provide remote guidance during the process if needed.
