The FortiGate Rugged 50G-5G (FGR-50G-5G) is an industrial next-generation firewall purpose-built for harsh operational-technology environments - substations, utilities, transportation and remote 5G sites. It pairs Fortinet's SP5 security processor with an embedded single 5G modem and GPS, so a remote OT site gets secure cellular WAN connectivity and full NGFW protection from one ruggedized box. It delivers 1.1 Gbps of threat protection, 2.25 Gbps IPS, 6 Gbps firewall throughput and 700,000 concurrent sessions, with six GE RJ45 ports, two GE SFP slots and a digital I/O module. The fanless DIN-rail chassis is rated IP40 and operates from -40 to 75°C with redundant 12-54V DC inputs, and it is certified to IEC 61850-3 / IEEE 1613 for electric power and EN 50155 for rolling stock. It runs FortiOS with built-in secure SD-WAN and ZTNA enforcement at no extra license cost.

The Rugged 50G-5G is a current-generation rugged FortiGate built on the Fortinet SP5 processor, fully supported with active FortiGuard and FortiCare subscriptions. It is the single-5G model in the rugged OT line.
It is built for harsh OT environments: fanless DIN-rail chassis, IP40 rating, -40 to 75°C operating range, redundant 12-54V DC inputs, and certification to IEC 61850-3 / IEEE 1613 for electric power and EN 50155 for rolling stock.
It includes a single embedded 5G modem (Telit Cinterion FN990A28-HP) with GPS and two SIM slots in active/passive mode, plus Bluetooth Low Energy, so remote sites get secure cellular WAN without a separate router.
It delivers 6 Gbps firewall throughput, 2.25 Gbps IPS, 1.25 Gbps NGFW, 1.1 Gbps threat protection and 1.3 Gbps SSL inspection, with 700,000 concurrent sessions and 85,000 new sessions per second.
