Product description

The FAP-432G-A brings Wi-Fi 6E to locations where the environment is the biggest challenge. Rated IP67, sealed against dust and immersion, and operational from −40 °C to +60 °C, it handles industrial facilities, outdoor campus areas, transportation hubs, and any site where typical indoor hardware fails. Tri-radio 802.11ax coverage across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz, combined with a 10GBASE-T PoE uplink, delivers the bandwidth headroom enterprise-density wireless deployments require today and over the next several years.

Purpose-Built for Challenging Outdoor Environments

Where standard outdoor APs fall short, the FAP-432G-A adds the features that matter operationally. Integrated GNSS provides precise asset tracking and timing without additional hardware. The RS-232 serial port and dual IoT radio (BLE and Zigbee) connect the AP to OT systems and IoT sensors that make up modern industrial or smart-campus deployments. The 10G uplink is not aspirational for a dense outdoor venue — it is necessary when forty or more clients per radio are the design target.

Wi-Fi 6E: Why the 6 GHz Band Matters

The 6 GHz band available with Wi-Fi 6E adds up to 1,200 MHz of clean, uncongested spectrum in a single radio. Unlike the 5 GHz band — crowded with legacy 802.11ac and 802.11n deployments — 6 GHz is available only to Wi-Fi 6E clients, which means the FAP-432G-A can offload the newest devices to a band with dramatically lower interference and wider 80 MHz and 160 MHz channels. The existing 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios continue serving legacy devices without sharing bandwidth with Wi-Fi 6E clients.

Power and Installation

The FAP-432G-A ships with a 60 W 802.3bt (PoE++) injector in the box, enough to power all three radios at full capacity, or it can be run from any 802.3bt switch port. A wall/pole mounting kit and the antenna mounting bracket are included with the unit as well. No additional mounting hardware or separate injector purchase is required for a standard outdoor pole installation.

FortiCare Support and Licensing

The FAP-432G-A is hardware only. FortiCare Premium support contracts (FC-10-P432G-247 series) are available separately in 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year terms and cover firmware access, 24/7 TAC support, and advanced hardware replacement. DataCenter360.ca stocks both the hardware and all major FortiCare contract terms for same-day ordering.

Buying from DataCenter360.ca

DataCenter360.ca is an authorized Fortinet Select Partner and MSSP stocking the FAP-432G-A in Canada for same-day shipment. The unit ships new in factory packaging with its 60 W PoE injector in the box, so the only add-on worth pairing at checkout is a FortiCare Premium support contract to deploy fully covered from day one.

Does the FAP-432G-A ship with antennas?
The unit ships with the mounting bracket for the 9 N-Type antenna ports and a wall/pole mounting kit. The 9 external antennas (Fortinet recommends the ANT-R-N-OMNI-0606N or equivalent N-Type omni antennas) are ordered separately, or Fortinet’s regional bundles include them. Confirm antenna region compatibility (North America = Region Code A) before ordering.
What PoE injector does the FAP-432G-A require?
The FAP-432G-A ships with a 60 W 802.3bt (PoE++) injector included in the box, rated to power all three radios at full capacity. No separate injector purchase is needed for a standard install; the unit can also run from an 802.3bt-capable switch port. A standard 802.3at (PoE+) source will still power the AP, but in a reduced-capability mode with lower radio transmit power.
Can the FAP-432G-A operate as a standalone access point without a FortiGate or FortiLAN Cloud controller?
The FAP-432G-A is a managed access point designed for use with a FortiGate firewall (via FortiAP tunnel or bridge mode) or FortiLAN Cloud. It does not have a built-in controller mode and requires one of these management planes for full configuration and policy enforcement.
Is the 6 GHz radio compatible with existing 5 GHz Wi-Fi 6 clients?
No. The 6 GHz radio requires Wi-Fi 6E-capable clients. Existing Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) devices that operate only on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz will continue using those radios. The 6 GHz band is additive — it does not replace 5 GHz coverage and does not affect connectivity for non-Wi-Fi 6E clients.
What is the GNSS functionality used for?
The integrated GNSS receiver (GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, QZSS) enables the FAP-432G-A to provide accurate location timestamps for wireless client events, support asset tracking workflows, and give FortiAP management precise physical location data. In outdoor campus and transportation deployments this replaces the need for a separate GPS receiver on the AP mounting infrastructure.
