Large enterprise and government deployments of the FortiGate 1100E carry a hardware-failure risk that standard RMA returns cannot address: the appliance’s internal storage holds sensitive configuration data on solid-state media that cannot be field-replaced or wiped without invalidating the warranty. The Fortinet FortiGate 1100E Secure RMA Service (FC-10-F11HE-301-02-12) resolves that problem directly. When a unit fails, Fortinet ships a replacement to your site, and you keep the defective appliance — configuration data and residual network state remain within your physical control, and no return shipment is required.
Secure RMA modifies the standard hardware replacement process for the FortiGate 1100E under an active FortiCare Premium or Elite contract. Under a typical Advanced Replacement, you receive a replacement unit and ship the defective device back to Fortinet. With Secure RMA, Fortinet dispatches the replacement, and you retain the defective unit on-site, satisfying data-residency mandates and internal security policies that prohibit off-site transfer of storage media.
Secure RMA modifies how hardware replacement works; the table below shows how the three base FortiCare support tiers compare across key service dimensions, before the Secure RMA modification is applied.

Secure RMA is purpose-built for organizations where returning hardware is not a workable option. Federal agencies, financial institutions, healthcare networks, and enterprises subject to data-residency regulations all face the same issue: a standard RMA return ships a device that contains configuration data off-site, and that is unacceptable under compliance rules or internal security policy. If an audit requirement, insurance rider, or executive directive prohibits off-site transfer of storage media, Secure RMA is the correct service to have in place for your FortiGate 1100E.
The 1100E is a high-throughput firewall built for data center perimeters and large campus aggregation — exactly the type of environment where a failed appliance can carry sensitive routing tables, policy sets, and certificate material. Secure RMA ensures a swift replacement without any of that data leaving your premises.
This is an electronic service. After purchase from DataCenter360.ca, Fortinet issues a license key registered against your FortiGate 1100E serial number in the Fortinet Support Portal at support.fortinet.com. Activation takes effect immediately upon registration. No physical shipment is needed for the license; the replacement hardware is dispatched by Fortinet only when an RMA event occurs and a case is confirmed.
Secure RMA works alongside a FortiCare Premium or Elite subscription on the same device. Premium and Elite provide the Advanced Replacement foundation that Secure RMA builds on — without one of those active contracts, the Secure RMA modification has no base replacement process to modify. If your FortiGate 1100E does not yet have a FortiCare Premium subscription, pairing this SKU with FC-10-F11HE-247-02-12 provides the complete coverage stack. Both can be purchased together or renewed simultaneously.
DataCenter360.ca is an authorized Fortinet Select Partner selling FortiGate 1100E services to enterprise and government customers worldwide. This 1-year Secure RMA subscription (FC-10-F11HE-301-02-12) is purchased through the authorized Fortinet channel, licensed to the serial number you register, and delivered electronically the same business day. Multi-year pricing is available in the 3-year and 5-year terms for organizations planning coverage through a hardware refresh cycle. Contact our team via the quote form for volume pricing or to confirm service availability in your country.
Under a standard Advanced Replacement contract (included with FortiCare Premium and Elite), you receive a replacement unit and return the defective device to Fortinet. Secure RMA changes that process: when a hardware failure is confirmed, Fortinet ships the replacement, but you keep the defective appliance on-site. Because FortiGate appliances store configuration data on internal solid-state media that cannot be field-removed without voiding the warranty, Secure RMA ensures that data never leaves your physical environment.
FC-10-F11HE-301-02-12 covers the Secure RMA service only. It modifies the hardware replacement process but does not itself provide telephone support, firmware update access, or TAC case management. For full FortiCare coverage including 24×7 telephone support and the 1-hour critical-issue response time, pair this SKU with an active FortiCare Premium (FC-10-F11HE-247-02-12) or Elite subscription on the same serial number.
The license is delivered electronically and can be registered from any country. The physical hardware replacement portion of Secure RMA, however, is subject to country-level availability in Fortinet’s service program. Check Fortinet’s service availability page or contact your Fortinet account manager to confirm Secure RMA hardware replacement is supported at your location before purchasing the subscription.
Yes. At renewal time you can purchase another 1-year term, or move to the 3-year (FC-10-F11HE-301-02-36) or 5-year (FC-10-F11HE-301-02-60) terms upfront. Multi-year terms reduce the per-year cost and minimize renewal administration. Keep in mind that a gap in Secure RMA coverage during a hardware failure means standard RMA terms apply, which may require the defective unit to be returned.
Once Fortinet ships the replacement and closes the RMA case, the defective device is yours to manage according to your internal data-handling policy. Common options include formal decommissioning with on-site storage media destruction, holding it as a spare chassis, or disposing of it through your certified electronics recycler. Fortinet does not provide further direction for the retained unit after the case is resolved.
