Warranty repair usually means a failed appliance leaves the building, and for a network edge device that once carried live configuration and session data, that’s a hard no in a lot of security-conscious environments. The FortiGate 2200E 1-Year Secure RMA Service (FC-10-F22HE-301-02-12) solves it by letting the customer keep and destroy the defective unit on-site while Fortinet still ships a replacement, no data ever has to leave the premises. This is a subscription license only, no hardware included, covering one year of Secure RMA eligibility from activation.
The FortiGate 2200E stores its configuration on solid-state media that can’t be pulled out in the field without voiding the warranty. Under a standard RMA, the failed appliance still has to be shipped back to Fortinet, data and all, before the case closes. Secure RMA removes that requirement: the defective FortiGate 2200E is retained and destroyed by the customer, and Fortinet ships the replacement under the existing service agreement regardless. Availability is set at the country level, so confirm eligibility for your region on Fortinet’s service availability page or with your account manager before ordering.
This is an add-on to an existing FortiCare Premium or Elite contract on the FortiGate 2200E, not a replacement for one, and it doesn’t change the underlying response-time SLA. The table below shows how the base FortiCare tiers handle hardware replacement, for context on what Secure RMA layers onto:
| RMA / Support Detail | Essential | Premium | Elite |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hardware RMA | Return & replace | Advanced replacement | Advanced replacement |
| Priority RMA add-on eligible | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| Critical-issue response | Next business day | 1 hour | 15 minutes |
| Telephone support | — | ✓ | ✓ |
Premium and Elite both already ship the replacement unit before the failed device gets returned (advanced replacement). Secure RMA’s job is narrower: it removes the return step entirely, so the failed FortiGate 2200E never leaves your site.
This term fits organizations that renew support annually but still can’t have hardware leave the site, government networks, financial institutions, and healthcare providers commonly fall under data-handling rules that make a returned appliance a liability. A one-year Secure RMA term keeps that protection aligned with an annual FortiCare renewal cycle rather than locking in a multi-year commitment up front.
Like other FortiCare add-ons, this license is issued electronically and tied to the FortiGate 2200E’s serial number in the Fortinet support portal. Nothing physical ships. The one-year term starts at activation, so plan the renewal date ahead of expiry to avoid a gap where Secure RMA eligibility lapses on an otherwise active FortiCare contract.
We issue Secure RMA licenses for the FortiGate 2200E wherever Fortinet supports the service, and we’ll verify country-level eligibility for your location before the order goes through. As an authorized Fortinet Select Partner, the license gets registered against your appliance’s serial number and checkout is fully secured.
