Fortinet FortiSwitch 108F Secured Access Switch, 8-Port GE + 2x GE SFP (FS-108F)

Eight copper GE ports, two SFP uplinks, zero fans, and a form factor that fits on a shelf next to a desktop FortiGate. The FS-108F completes the Fortinet Secure Fabric at the access layer for small offices that need centralized switching without rack infrastructure. FortiLink ties it to the FortiGate in a single pane of glass — policy, VLAN, NAC, and quarantine controls flow down from the firewall with no separate switch CLI required.

What’s in the Box

The FS-108F ships as a desktop unit with a 12V/1A DC power adapter. Seven of the eight RJ45 ports are standard GE data ports; Port 8 doubles as a PoE PD input, so the switch can be powered from an upstream PoE source instead of the included adapter when the deployment calls for it. Two GE SFP uplink ports accommodate fiber runs to a distribution switch or a FortiGate SFP port.

Where It Fits

The FS-108F is at home in small offices with 4 to 8 wired endpoints — workstations, VoIP phones, IP cameras without PoE requirements, and network printers. Because it runs under FortiLink, the FortiGate handles port profiles, VLAN segmentation, and device quarantine from the same interface used to manage the firewall. There is no separate switch management plane to license or maintain.

Hardware Only — Services Sold Separately

The FS-108F ships as hardware with a limited lifetime warranty. FortiCare support (FortiCare Premium or Essential) is purchased separately and adds TAC access, firmware entitlement, and hardware RMA coverage. If your environment also includes FortiAPs, adding FortiCare for each switch keeps all support contracts co-terminated and handled through a single partner.

Who Runs It

Small businesses and remote office deployments already running a FortiGate 30G, 40F, or 50G series use the FS-108F to extend the Secure Fabric to the access layer. IT teams managing multiple locations benefit from FortiLink because switch configuration is templated and pushed from FortiGate — one change propagates across all managed ports without a separate switch login.

Moving Up

When port count or uplink speed becomes the constraint, the FS-124F adds 24 GE ports and upgrades the uplinks to 4x 10GE SFP+ while maintaining the same FortiLink integration. For environments that will add PoE devices (APs, IP phones, cameras), the FS-108F-POE (65W) or FS-108F-FPOE (130W) are direct PoE-capable alternatives within the same 108F generation.
