The FortiAP 231F is Fortinet's indoor Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point — a tri-radio 2x2 design serving the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands with a third radio dedicated to continuous background scanning, so rogue-AP and threat detection never interrupts client traffic. It uses the Wi-Fi 6 toolkit — OFDMA, MU-MIMO, BSS coloring and Target Wake Time — to serve more devices more efficiently over existing Cat5e/Cat6 cabling. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports give PoE flexibility, an integrated BLE / Zigbee radio supports beacons, locationing and IoT, and the AP is managed by any FortiGate, by FortiAP Cloud or through FortiSASE — no per-AP management licence. The 231F is end-of-order but remains in our catalog, fully supported and renewable through 2029. For the newer Wi-Fi 7 generation step up to the FortiAP 231K (adds 6 GHz) or the 221K value model.
