The FortiAP 433F is Fortinet's high-density indoor Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point — a tri-radio 4x4 MU-MIMO design with two client radios on 2.4 and 5 GHz plus a dedicated scanning radio, so rogue-AP and threat detection never interrupts client traffic. Five external antennas let you shape coverage for tricky indoor layouts; four spatial streams on each band serve more full-rate clients in busy spaces. It is the external-antenna sibling of the internal-antenna 431F. A 2.5 Gigabit multigigabit uplink plus a second Gigabit port give PoE diversity over existing cabling, an integrated BLE radio supports beacons and locationing, and the AP is managed by any FortiGate or by FortiEdge Cloud — no per-AP management licence. The 433F is end-of-order but remains in our catalog, fully supported and renewable through 2030. For the newer Wi-Fi 7 generation the direct successor is the FortiAP 443K, which also uses external antennas and adds the 6 GHz band.

It is a tri-radio Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) AP with 4×4 MU-MIMO, reaching up to 1148 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz — about 3.5 Gbps aggregate — with a dedicated scanning radio and up to 512 clients per serving radio.
They share the same 4×4 Wi-Fi 6 radios; the 433F has five external antennas for coverage shaping, while the 431F uses internal antennas for a cleaner ceiling install. Choose the 433F where you need to aim or extend coverage.
It runs on standard 802.3at PoE over its 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet uplink, with a second Gigabit port for PoE diversity. Power it from any 802.3at PoE switch, the GPI-130 injector, or the SP-FAP400-PA adapter.
For the newer Wi-Fi 7 generation, the FortiAP 443K is the direct successor — it also uses external RP-SMA antennas and adds the 6 GHz band with dual 10 GbE uplinks. The 431F is the internal-antenna equivalent, and the Wi-Fi 6E 432G is an outdoor 4×4 alternative.
