The FortiSwitch 1048G is a 48-port 10GE data center switch built for server connectivity, storage networking and aggregation. It provides 48 ports of 10G/1G on SFP+/SFP for server and storage links, plus six 100GE QSFP28 uplinks to the core or spine, delivering 2,160 Gbps of switching capacity. MACSec (802.1AE) on every port provides wire-speed Layer 2 encryption for east-west traffic. Dual hot-swappable AC power supplies keep it running through a power event. As the G-series successor to the FS-1048E, it adds MACSec and higher uplink density while running the same FortiSwitchOS. Managed over FortiLink from any FortiGate, it joins the Security Fabric — one console for switching and security.
