The FortiAP HD-431G was the Wi-Fi 6E indoor high-density access point in the FortiAP High Density family — three radios, 4x4 streams. The FortiAP HD-431G reached end of order on 29 June 2026. Since then the hardware SKU (FAP-HD-431G-A) has gone out of stock with no replenishment, Fortinet has dropped it from the 2026 Q3 price list, and it has disappeared from the FortiAP High Density Series datasheet — the current revision, dated 27 July 2026, lists only the Wi-Fi 7 models. The High Density family has moved to Wi-Fi 7 and the Wi-Fi 6E generation of it is closed.
The dates that matter from here are the two ahead of you. Last service extension is 29 June 2030 — the final date on which a support contract can be started or extended on these units. End of support is 29 June 2031, when TAC and firmware updates stop. So there is real runway: roughly four years in which coverage can still be bought, and about five before support ends outright. That is enough to retire the fleet on a normal refresh cycle rather than an emergency one, but it is worth putting the 2030 date in the calendar, because after it no new coverage can be added at any price.
What the HD-431G was: an indoor high-density access point running three radios with 4x4 streams on Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax), sold into the High Density line for venue and large-campus projects. For standard campus deployments rather than venue builds, the FortiAP 441K and FortiAP 443K cover the same ground on the FortiGate-managed side.
