It delivers 32 ports at 1/2.5 GE plus 16 ports at 1/2.5/5 GE on RJ45, with full 802.3bt (type 4) Power over Ethernet on all 48 ports and an 1800 W budget - enough to drive Wi-Fi 6E/7 access points, multi-gig endpoints, pan-tilt-zoom cameras and IP phones from a single switch. Eight flexible 1/10/25 GE SFP28 uplinks aggregate 720 Gbps of switching with 1,071 Mpps forwarding in a 1RU chassis. Hardware MACsec encrypts traffic on the wire, and Layer 2/3 FortiSwitchOS handles segmentation and routing. Managed over FortiLink from any FortiGate, it folds wired access and PoE into the Security Fabric - one console for switching, Wi-Fi and security, no separate controller. Don't need PoE? The data-only 648F drops the power budget on the same platform.
