The FS-AX9000G-PS-3KAC is the AC power supply for the FortiSwitch AX9000G chassis family. It delivers 3,000 W on a 200–240 V feed and 1,400 W on 100–120 V — a difference worth planning for, because a chassis fed at 120 V needs more than twice as many supplies to reach the same budget.
A chassis accepts up to eight hot-swappable power supplies, AC or DC. How many you actually need depends on the installed supervisor modules and line cards: an AX9004G draws up to 12.8 kW on a 100–120 V AC feed and up to 26.2 kW on 200–240 V at maximum configuration, and a fully populated PoE chassis is at the top of that range because each LC10P card carries a 4,320 W PoE budget of its own.
The same unit fits both the four-slot FS-AX9004G and the eight-slot FS-AX9008G. If you need DC, the FS-AX9000G-PS-2K5DC supplies 2,500 W from a −48 to −60 V feed. Power supplies are hot swappable, so a failed unit can be replaced with the chassis in service.
